Islam considers women as partners of men in humanity, created from a single origin. Allah says, ”

 1. O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam), and from him (Adam) He created his wife [Hawwâ (Eve)], and from them both He created many men and women; and fear Allâh through Whom you demand (your mutual rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the wombs (kinship)[1]. Surely, Allâh is Ever an All-Watcher over you

A person came to Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and asked, “Who among people is most deserving of my fine treatment?” He (ﷺ) said, “Your mother”. He again asked, ”Who next?” “Your mother”, the Prophet (ﷺ) replied again. He asked, “Who next?” He (the Prophet (ﷺ)) said again, “Your mother.” He again asked, “Then who?” Thereupon he (ﷺ) said,” Then your father.”

1- Women’s Rights in Islam:

Dear Muslim, do not let anyone deceive you by saying that women have no rights in Islam. This is absolutely not true in our noble Sami religion. On the contrary, Islam has granted women their rights after they suffered in the era of ignorance (pre-Islamic period). Islam honored and favored women and gave them a fundamental role in building society. It guaranteed them basic rights:

1- The right to education.

2- The right to choose a spouse.

3- The right to inheritance.

Dear Muslim woman, don’t miss out on this course to learn about the numerous advantages you receive in Islam.

2- The Importance of Education for Women in Islam:

Women should learn from their religion what is obligatory for them, such as correct creed, prayer, fasting, and so on. They should also learn what benefits them in their religious and worldly affairs. Memorizing and reciting the Quran is considered one of the most important matters for women to acquire, and that is what “Quran Moddaker Academy” offers to help them learn what benefits them.

3- The Honor of Women in Islam:

Islam paid great attention to women and regarded them with honor and pride. Among the manifestations of honoring women in Islam are:

1- Women in Islam should be dutiful, obedient, and kind to their mothers.

2- Women in Islam, as wives, require their husbands to spend on them, treat them kindly, avoid harming them, and refrain from mistreating them.

3- Women in Islam, as daughters, live under the care of their parents until they get married.

4- Islam commands to protect women, preserve their dignity, and safeguard them. It commands them to wear the hijab and lower their gaze.

5- An entire chapter in the Quran, called Surah An-Nisa (The Women), discusses the rights and obligations of women.

4- Foundations Set for Women in Islam:

Islam is merciful towards women and has recommended their good treatment. Many narrations from the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advise men to treat women kindly. Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Treat women kindly.” It is also reported that a man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) asking about the rights of his companionship, and the Prophet replied, “Your mother, your mother, your mother, then your father.”

Now, let’s take a quick journey to learn about some of the foundations set for women in Islam:

1- Islam exempts women from financial obligations.

2- Islam mandates a dowry for women and prohibits taking anything from it without her consent.

3- Islam has allowed women to inherit from their husbands, children, siblings, and parents, even though they are not financially responsible.

5- The Status of Women in Islam:

Islam has supported women in all stages and ages of their lives. Islam has honored women as mothers, wives, and daughters. The status and position of women in Islam are unparalleled in any other place in the world or in other religions.

Thus, we see that women in Islam find happiness in their lives with their families, under the care of their parents, and with the support of their husbands and children. They receive attention and care in their childhood, youth, and old age, whether they are poor or rich, healthy or ill. If there is any shortcoming in the rights of women in some Muslim countries, it is due to deficiencies, ignorance, and a failure to apply the laws of Islamic religion.
